Hike@Shawnee Mission Lake Orange/Violet Trail

The trail head is closest to shelter 7. We will hike a combination of trails near the orange and violet. About 4 miles. If trails are closed we will do the paved trails meeting at same location.

Estimating about 1.5 hrs.

This is rated as a moderate trail, but not too steep or rugged. Lots of rocks and tree roots.

Hiking boots, shoes, or even sneakers will work in my opinion. Trek poles helpful.

Dress accordingly, and bring water! Park near shelter 7, then meet at trail entrance at corner of W. 79th, and John Barkley Dr.
