What we’re about
Get Out! members want to socialize. We are a group of active LGBT+ folks looking to enjoy group activities, try out new things, explore new places, and develop friendships.
Our activities vary according to current volunteer organizers, but may include: theater, hiking, comedy, bowling, concerts, restaurant meals, biking, home-based member mingles, museum tours, and day trips.
We’re an active, dynamic and engaged group for the inclusive LGBTQ+ community throughout the Phoenix metro valley. For your membership, we try to offer multiple opportunities to engage each month. To support these efforts and to maintain a sense of community, we ask the following of our members:
• Attend at least one event within your first 90 days. We’re excited to welcome you.
• Thereafter, attend at least one event per quarter, to maintain our sense of community. It also helps to get to know you.
• RSVP to events that interest you early, and honor your RSVPs
• Last-minute cancellations can be problematic for event hosts; avoid them if possible. Repeated no shows can be grounds for removal. Some events have a limited number of attendees, so no shows are stealing a spot from someone who could have made it.
• Each member contributes a non-refundable annual fee to help cover the costs of the Meetup site, incidentals for the meetings and administrative costs for hosting events. This annual fee ($10 as of 2024) is due after a 60 day trial period. Meetup handles all member fees, they will send you reminders and accept payment.
