Hike to Mansfield Forehead

Details
Hi all! Join me on a 6-7mile hike to the Forehead! The summit offers beautiful views of the Mansfield Ridge and the valleys around. 2500’ elevation gain and should take us 5ish hours to complete.
We’ll meet at the Stevensville Trailhead at 8am, go over the route and start hiking up via Butler Lodge trail. From Butler Lodge, we’ll take the Rock Garden trail to Maple Ridge until we hit the Long Trail junction, and take LT North up to the Forehead. Return to Butler Lodge via LT S and take Butler Lodge trail back to our cars.
Although moderate until Butler lodge, this is a challenging route there on and includes a chasm to jump across, steep rock walls to scale, tight crevices to squeeze thru etc.. all very much doable, but if you’re new to hiking, this one might feel like a survival training than fun 😅
Post hike social @Kate’s Food Truck in Jericho.
Group limit 10.
Since a good portion of the hike is rocky and above the tree line it isn’t recommended in wet and slippery conditions or if there is a chance of thunderstorms.
In case of unfavorable conditions, we’ll hike the Stevensville Loop trail that is about the same distance but at lower elevation and more moderate.
Small parking lot at the trailhead and they disallow parking along the road. Please let me know if anyone is interested in carpooling from Market32 (used to be Price Chopper) in Essex Junction.
