Minister Creek Backpacking (overnight)

Right in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest. The 6-7 mile loop of the Minister Creek Trail offers challenges for a wide range of skill levels The Minister Creek Trail joins the North Country National Scenic Trail along the most northerly segment. Primitive Camping can be found along the trail. But the Triple Forks campsite, situated at the confluence of three branches of Minister Creek, seems to be the most popular. The trail itself features rock formations, and slots that the trail goes through, as well as some great scenic overlooks.

A backpacking trip with an overnight was requested before the snow flies, so here it is. This a great trail for beginners to start their backpacking journey and get some experience. And it's within 2 hours of Erie, so lets go, get signed up.

You will need good hiking shoes, backpack, sleeping bag (or something to keep you warm for the night), sleeping pad, and a tent, or some form of shelter. Obviously food to keep you going throughout the hike. There will be at least one water filter handy as well as cooking gear. Aside from that...bring your sense of adventure and smiles.
