A walk with a difference…..

Here’s an opportunity not to be missed starting at 12.00 on Monday 16th March.

We have arranged for a total of 12 guest spots on a 90 minute walk around old Portsmouth, an area steeped in history. Our guide will be John Grant. John’s walks are always packed with information which he imparts in his own inimitable style.
John does not charge for the experience although if you wish to make a donation to his supported charity it would be more than welcome.

Here’s the tedious bits! We meet at the old city walls Landport Gate almost opposite the Tesco Express in St George’s Road. It will be a prompt 12 o’clock start.

Parking in this area is restricted although there is chargeable parking within nearby Gunwharf or more limited chargeable parking in St George’s Square. Alternatively the meeting point is a ten minute walk from the transport interchange on the Hard as shown on the map; so if you prefer why not take the train to Portsmouth Harbour station or a bus to The Hard interchange. If you decide to travel this way take a look at the recently installed murals on the railway arches as you walk past Gunwharf from the interchange to the meeting point and perhaps see if by you can spot the memorial to Isambard Kingdom Brunel located in St George's Square, this 2006 memorial commemorates the bicentenary of his nearby birth.

Well enough from us it’s over to John Grant on the 16th March at midday.

We will find a convenient coffee stop after the walk, depending on where it ends!
