Building a Personal Website with Github Pages Workshop

This will be a one-time workshop on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 9am-11am. This is not a continuing series.
Finally get your personal website up and running for FREE using GitHub Pages. We'll walk you through using the tool and then spend time actually building your first page!
No GitHub experience is necessary-- we'll walk you through what you need to know!
This workshop will cover:
• Publishing Code to Github with Github Desktop
• Hosting files on Github, with Github Pages
• Building a Jekyll Site

Instructor:

Prerequisites:
You should be familiar with web development fundamentals (HTML & CSS).
Please bring a wifi-enabled laptop (for the hands-on portion of the workshop).
You will also need the following available on your computer before class:
• Create a Github (http://github.com) account (if you don’t already have one)
• Download Github Desktop (https://desktop.github.com/) to your computer
• Download Sublime Text 3 (http://www.sublimetext.com/3) - the preferred text editor
• Also, as an alternative to Internet Explorer, please install either the Chrome, Safari, or Firefox + Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/) browser.
