Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own Tumblr/WordPress/etc. site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program, but want to start small? This class is for you!

We will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS, give you some readily-applicable skills, and answer any questions you may have along the way.

NOTE: This is a two session course, Saturday January 16, and Saturday, January 23. You are paying to attend both days.

Session 1: Jan 16, 9:30am-12:30pm. We will go through setting up your text editor, how websites work, and an introduction to HTML and CSS.

Session 2: Jan 23, 9:30am-12:30pm. Now that we've mastered the basics of HTML and CSS we will move on to the formatting and layout of a website.

Alya Aziz-Zaman is an aspiring web developer currently enrolled in Galvanize’s Full Stack Web Development program. She enjoys cooking, reading long novels and binge-watching Netflix. Originally from the Minneapolis area, Alya now calls Fort Collins home but is open to living anywhere in the world for the right job.

Lindsay Hohn is currently a student in Galvanize's Full Stack Program learning the Mean Stack. She is passionate about creating web applications that help others and promoting women in technology.

Lori Nitzel's foray into web development comes after having quite a few careers, ranging from environmental educator to attorney. Currently a Galvanize student, she is learning to crush code competently while still managing to co-parent two young children and rescue furry creatures who need homes.

Saundie Weiss is a developer currently studying in the Galvanize Full Stack Program. Before coding, she worked as copywriter in a marketing agency for four years. She enjoys anything outdoors and will never say no to a trip to the mountains.

Your laptop and charger.

Wifi & power strips will be provided

Sublime Text 2 or 3 installed Prior to class ( http://www.sublimetext.com/)

Our host for this class is Galvanize in Old Town. The class will take place in the conference room on the lower level.
