Career Domination: Get Hired - Acing the Interview
Details
Interviews can be tense and stressful – and it can be difficult to put your best foot forward when you are in a nervous state. This is where most people lose their opportunity to get the job. Not because they aren’t good enough but because they don’t nail the interview.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Believe it or not, it is not very difficult to go from hating interviews to loving them.
In this class, you will learn how to ace the interview and put yourself in a position to negotiate your next role. How do I know? Two reasons. First, I’ve conducted tons of interviews for roles in engineering, sales, and marketing at all levels from intern through CEO. I’ve seen every mistake that can be made, and know exactly what it takes to wow the interviewers.
But, even more importantly, I used to be that person who hated interviews, got nervous and stressed before each one, and lost opportunities as a result. And I had some great mentors who helped me turn that weakness into a major strength. In this workshop, you’ll learn:
• The underlying reasons why we get nervous before and during the interview
• How to ace the interview feeling comfortable and confident each step of the way
• How to follow-up after the interview to maximize your chances for success
This is a hands-on workshop. We will conduct mock interviews, discuss what is working, and what changes need to be made. Come prepared to make monumental strides in your interviewing process.
While the first Career Domination class is focused on creating a kickass resume, you do not need to have attended that class in order to attend this workshop on acing the interview. Likewise, you need not attend the second workshop entitled Getting Discovered (https://www.meetup.com/Girl-Develop-It-Philadelphia/events/174627702/) which focuses on how to get your resume - and yourself - in front of the right people to maximize your chances of getting an interview.
Please come to this Acing the Interview workshop with:
• A printed copy of your resume. These will be used during the mock interviews.
• A method for taking notes (e.g. notebook or computer).
