Intro to Product Management

This one night course runs on Tuesday, May 12th from 6:15pm to 9:00pm.
Location note: enter the building from the parking lot at 24th and Sansom (NOT Walnut). Take elevator to 6th floor and we'll be on your left.

Are you working on a software product? Do you have a startup idea? Do you want to enter the field of product management but are not sure what it entails? Whether you are working with a whole team of engineers in a Product Management role, or trying to understand how to get your idea to market, this Product Management crash course will give you the tool kit and the confidence you need!
We will go through the product lifecycle, from idea to launch, as well as dive into semantics of doing market research, working with engineers, and building a lean and agile development process. Using a mix of takeaways, templates, and exercises we will guide you through everything you need to know to take ownership of a software product. The class will give you immediate skills you can implement with your team, as well as the resources to keep working on your craft.

Prerequisites:
An interest in product management as it relates to software products.
Bring something to take notes with, no laptop required.
About the teachers:
Beah Burger-Lenehan (https://twitter.com/beahbl) is the Vice President of Product at Ticketleap, a center city startup. Her career in tech started in California at Google, where she worked in Search and later Publisher Ads. She left Google in 2013 to join the Philadelphia tech community and to help it grow.

Marina Rakhlin (https://twitter.com/Marina_Rakhlin) loves her role as the CEO of the Product, working with cross-functional teams to create software focused for delivering valuable insights. In her current role as the Director of Product Management at a marketing software company Monetate, Marina works with agile engineering teams to craft features and products centered around personalizing the online experience, product recommendations, and cross-channel analytics. Marina holds an MBA from the Wharton School and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and daughter.
