Intro to Content Strategy
Hosted by Girl Develop It Philadelphia
Details
This two-part course runs on Tuesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 6th from 6:30pm to 8:45pm.
CLASS OVERVIEW
Content strategy is a plan that uses content to achieve a goal. It's important because a lot of people are asking for it, but very few really know what it is -- this is an opportunity to learn a skill that is in high demand. Are you interested in becoming a content strategist? Would you like to become a better content strategist? Are you interested in learning what content strategy can do for your clients? Would you like to apply some content strategy to your own career?
Learn what it takes to practice content strategy. We'll look at case studies and examples to illustrate what content strategy is and the types of problems a content strategist aims to solve as well as the deliverables one typically produces. Primarily, we'll learn by doing, working through exercises to build a content strategy with a real-life example that will use content to align user goals and business goals in a sustainable, scalable way.
In this course we'll cover:
What is content strategy?
Why is now a good time to get involved?
What kind of problems are content strategists typically asked to solve?
What are the building blocks of a good content strategy?
What are some typical (and atypical) content strategy deliverables?
With whom does a content strategist typically work, both client side and agency/employer side?
What are some strategies for actually getting hired as a content strategist?
What are some case studies that show how it's done?
How do I build a content strategy from scratch?
