About us
WELCOME TO GIRLHOOD
We’re glad you’re here.
Girlhood is a community of women who believe connection is built through showing up... consistently, thoughtfully, and as we are. We gather to move our bodies, slow down our conversations, and create space for real relationships to form.
At the heart of Girlhood are two standing monthly gatherings:
Walk & Wind Down — a movement-based gathering that ends with shared meals and easy conversation.
The Girlhood Table — an intimate discussion space centered around books or shared themes.
Together, these gatherings create familiarity, trust, and continuity.
Girlhood is for women who want to explore their surroundings, expand their circles, and build friendships that grow over time. Some come for the walks, some for the conversations, some for both — and all are welcome to find their place.
We host gatherings across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., with occasional curated experiences that grow naturally from our core community.
Because Girlhood is built on consistency and thoughtful participation, some events require a small non-refundable fee to secure your RSVP. Fees typically range between $5–$10 and help sustain the group by covering:
- Annual Meetup platform costs
- Shared appetizers during select outings
- Water and small supplies for hikes
- Member appreciation and recognition initiatives
This structure allows us to plan intentionally and honor one another’s time and energy.
There’s no pressure to perform here. No requirement to be loud, outgoing, or perfectly put together. Just a willingness to show up, take part, and let connection unfold.
This is Girlhood.
And there’s a seat at the table for you.

The Girlhood Table is our monthly conversation gathering.
Some months we discuss a book, other months a shared theme... but the goal is always the same: thoughtful conversation in an intimate setting. For March, we’re reading Smoke Kings.
On the surface, this novel explores ambition, corporate power, loyalty, and the American Dream.
But at the Girlhood Table, we’ll go deeper.
We’ll ask:- What does it cost to rise?
- Who do you become when you chase security?
- What parts of yourself survive in professional spaces and what parts get edited?
While the story centers men navigating power, our conversation will center us.
How do women move through systems that were not built for us?
What does ambition look like when it’s feminine?
Where is the line between loyalty and self-preservation?
To close out the month, we’ll gather at Brock's Riverside Grill for dinner and guided discussion overlooking the water!🎟️ RSVP Details
