Girls and ADHD, An Introduction

Details
Girls (assigned female at birth) are the most under and/or misdiagnosed ADHD group. At times, their ADHD symptoms are attributed to hormones, anxiety, or mood disorder. Our girls are falling through the undiagnosed/misdiagnosed crack, the effects of which lead to academic and social impairment, bullying and aggression, among many other, and it makes them at higher risk than their neurotypical counterpart for maltreatment (physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect).
This educational discussion will provide you with some basic information on how ADHD manifests differently in girls than boys, why this is, and how to be aware of the signs.
