About us
Calling all Girlbosses! Girls Who Boss is a community where we create meaningful connections with like-minded individuals.
Our vision is to create a network of women who want to lead meaningful lives, no matter what that looks like (or if you even know what that looks like!), and facilitate incidental collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. We are a community diverse in lifestyles, careers, cultures, and ages that advocate for non-conformity and authenticity. This is a space for us to play, test ideas, and support each other without judgment. We're all about having fun and learning while creating purposeful relationships in life and business.
Are you in? We thought so ;)
We host regular member-run events, professional and personal development events, social events, guest speakers, social activities, book club, and free casual networking coffee catchups. All members are welcome and encouraged to facilitate their own events through the group too! Reach out to one of our organisers if you have an idea you want to test or share your knowledge with the community. Our DMs are always open!
You can also follow us on Instagram and TikTok.
The story behind Girls Who Boss
Eilish started Girls Who Boss (then called Girlbosses of Melbourne) in May 2022 after attending one too many of your typical networking events. Boring, corporate... you know the type. Sick of people in suits, shaking hands, and an impressive collection of business cards, she realised what she was looking for was a space to be herself, find people she could collaborate with in all kinds of ways, and be a part of a welcoming community. So one night on a whim, she started a meetup group - and here we are with events in Melbourne and Sydney and big plans to grow in 2025.
Group Etiquette:
We are here to encourage you on your business, creative, or life journeys.
Our events often have limited attendance with a waitlist, and having an accurate list of RSVPs allows us to plan our events out. Please only RSVP "yes" to an event if you know you can make it. If you can no longer make it just change your RSVP to "no" and/or message the event host to let them know so someone on the waitlist can attend. We ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice if you will be changing your RSVP to "no". No-shows may be removed from the group at the organiser's discretion.
If we are notified more than 48 hours in advance of a paid event that you will no longer be able to attend, you may request to transfer your ticket to a future event, to be approved at the organiser's discretion.
Wondering why our events are ticketed? We've written about it here.
If there is anything the group can do to accommodate you at an event, please reach out to the event host so we can make it happen.
Any members who are found to be disrespectful or discriminatory will be removed or banned from the group. All of our members should feel comfortable, respected, and included.
Looking to collaborate or want us to promote something you're working on? Fill out our Collaborator Enquiry Form here.
We can't wait to see you at our next event!
