Girls Go Camping - Lake Kachess

Details
This will be the third of several planned camping trips for the summer, and don't worry - there will be no hiking or squatting in the woods. All sites will be drive up, usually on the water, with restroom and shower facilities onsite because to us camping like a girl means camping with a bit of class and a little sass. It means sharing time with girlfriends in the great outdoors, think campsite cocktail parties and cookouts more so than 10 mile hikes in the wilderness.
This is a time to get away, de-stress, reconnect, adventure and have fun. Spending the days exploring this beautiful state or chilling on the beach or by the lake, then relaxing around the campfire under the stars with friends – and maybe a glass of wine, or twenty – can lead to lots of laughter and memories made.
These trips will be co-ed but the guys will attend by invite and organizer approval only (usually as the partner or close friend of another camper).
For each trip we will have multiple sites reserved - usually allowing up to 6. Sharing is recommended to maximize attendance, but not required, and all sites are drive up so we don't need to worry about carrying heavy items too far. Every site has toilets and showers on hand, and each location is on the water, either beach or lake, so you can bring your tubes, paddle boards, kayaks etc.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved.
Where are we staying?
Towering peaks, high-country lakes and old-growth forests provide visitors with a variety of landscapes. Kachess Lake, adjacent to the campground, is a reservoir that stores and provides water for irrigation for south-central Washington. The surrounding undeveloped wilderness, clean streams and diverse forests support an abundance of wildlife, including deer, porcupine, native fish and migratory birds.
Set in dense old-growth conifer forest and surrounded by high mountains, Kachess Campground is considered one of the most beautiful sites in the Cle Elum Ranger District, and is a prime location for fishing, swimming, boating, paddling and mountain biking in summer and early fall.
The campground is also a great base camp for day-hikers and overnight backpackers. Several access trails from the area give hikers the chance to create their own excursions, whether it be a day hike or an overnight trip.
Starting at the campground, the Kachess Lake Trail is a short loop next to the lake, enjoyable for hikers of all levels.
