TiKV is a distributed transactional Key-Value database that features in geo-replication, horizontal scalability, consistent distributed transactions, and coprocessor support. As a CNCF incubating project, TiKV has been adopted by over 1,000 companies worldwide in production scenarios, including several CNCF members such as JD Cloud & AI, UCloud, and PingAn Technology.
In this talk, Wish Shi will walk you through why TiKV was created and how it was built. Also, he will introduce new features in TiKV 4.0 GA and how it can help companies with data in the large by supporting petabyte-scale deployments spanning trillions of rows.
Bio
Wish Shi is an infrastructure engineer at PingCAP, mainly responsible for improving TiKV performance and its ecosystem usability. He previously presented the talk Introducing Rust-Prometheus in FOSDEM 2019, which provided some designs to collect metrics efficiently and safely.
