Mancos State Park Camping/Riding/Gathering
Details
Let's camp and ride and paddle in the Mancos area!
We had 34 people last summer and it was a blast!
Make your camping reservations at Mancos State Park (or elsewhere) for three nights (May 22-25). It is a beautiful state park with a lake. You can also stay a fourth night since it's Memorial Day Weekend or go do something else on Memorial Day.
There are many mountain bike/emtb riding options - Aqueduct Trail System, Phil's World (more challenging), Chicken Creek, Boggy Draw, Mancos Spur Trail, from easy to difficult. Small groups will decide the evening before where they're riding. You'll need to drive to most trailheads but they're nearby.
There is also gravel riding and lots of hiking in the area. Enjoy swimming, kayak, or paddleboard at the lake right at the campground. Temperatures are looking to be low 40s-70s all weekend.
"Happy Hours" at outdoor amphitheater on Saturday night 6:00 PM. Bring small table and chairs and set up with items to share such as cocktails/mocktails/finger foods. Everyone will walk around and mingle and choose what they want to eat and drink. Bring your own cup and plate.
"Show Time" at outdoor amphitheater on Sunday night at 6:00 PM. Skits, poetry reading, musical performances, stand-up comedy, whatever. Think ahead and bring what you need for your performance, eat beforehand, and BYOB!
Some will check out on Monday/Memorial Day and some might stay another night. Nothing formal planned after Sunday evening.
