This is a big, remote hike (at least for me). We'll start at the Main Canyon (Cameo) trailhead and hike Main Canyon to Spring Creek Canyon to the Hoodoo Trail to Coal Canyon. Most of the route is pretty good, marked trail, and the route up Spring Creek is not too steep.

You must be fit enough to do 14 miles with nontrivial elevation gain. It will be a really long day.

Bring a

  • good lunch
  • water
  • snacks
  • Hiking sticks if you like them
  • Of course layered clothing
  • HEADLAMP
  • Tape, first aid, anything you need to keep your feet good

Here's the info on GJ Hikes, and here's the Ride With GPS Track.

We usually see the wild horses in the first part, in Main Canyon.
