High Spur Bikepack and Slot Canyon Exploration

Jammed packed weekend adventure:
Meet outside of Hans Flat Ranger Station on Friday at our usual and wonderful campsite. Look for the orange CyclePaths box on the side of the road. For those who work Friday, we’ll see you Friday evening/night or early Saturday morning.

Saturday load up the wire donkey and bikepack in 13mi and set camp. We will spend the rest of the day exploring the high spur slot canyon. It’s a short ride in but we will need to carry about 2 gal. of water.

Sunday: ride to Deadman’s trail head , 5mi, and hike down into horseshoe canyon to the great panel. This is a rarely used route! We will then ride all the way back to the cars. Or, we can camp again if our energy is low.

Monday: If you didn’t head back home on Sunday to work on Monday, then let’s continue the adventure and ride into panorama point on Monday, about 22mi or so round trip. A bit of tecky stuff with rocky drops, but fun. The overlook of the Maze is awesome and the feeling of remoteness is indescribable.
