This is a big ride, you need to be ready for it physically and mentally if you're interested. It's about 50 miles and 6000 feet of climbing, although you don't have to go all the way up Land's End.

We'll ride from Palisade out around Horse Mountain, then across the desert to Land's End Road, then we'll ride up Land's End to as far as we get or to the snow line. Last year I was behind the other riders on the way up Land's End, so just turned around and came back down with them, so it's not essential to get all the way to the top of the Mesa.

Then we'll ride back.

There is no technical riding here. It's all desert doubletrack and then Land's End Road, which is good gravel. Sometimes too much washboard.

You need to make sure you have lots of water, lots of energy, eat a huge breakfast, and bring lots of food.

You need a mountain bike for this, not gravel, because the desert riding is a bit much for a gravel bike. You need big tires.

Here's the strava from a previous year: https://www.strava.com/activities/3387579532

We'll sit around and have some beverages after the ride.

There are options here:
* I don't think I've ever made it all the way to the top of Land's End, so I just turn around and go down with people as they come down.
* Nancy may lead a simpler ride around Horse Mountain, starting with the crew. That's just a couple of hours and very pleasant.
* If you don't want to do Land's End, it's easy to turn around when we get there.
* From Land's End it's pretty easy to pedal home on pavement.
