Hike the fins above Grandstaff Cyn

This hike will start on Grandstaff trail (off Hwy 128 near Moab) but then leave the trail at about the turn towards Morning Glory Arch. We'll continue in the canyon and then scramble up a notch to gain the rim above the canyon on the north-east side of the canyon.

Once on the rim we'll be surrounded by fins. We'll aim to hike northward to get a view of the Colorado River but I'm open to exploring too.

Expect about 7 to 8 mile hike, strenuous, a lot of which will be off-trail.

Dogs welcome (there are some patches of cactus that need avoiding). As there is likely water in the creek you might want a towel to dry your dog's feet at the end.
