Cottonwood/Rapid Creek Loop

This is just 22 miles or so starting at our house in Palisade. It's a loop that goes up Cottonwood Creek (behind where the Palisade Plunge descends, but it has nothing to do with the Plunge), It's all dirt road, the route up Cottonwood Creek is pretty good maintained dirt, but the other side (Rapid Creek) is not really maintained and can be rough, so we'll be taking mountain bikes. There is a short section of singletrack near the beginning and end that requires a bit of walking.

The ride up Cottonwood is a grind, and always includes some walking. The route overall does 3000 feet of climbing over those 22 miles.

We ride around Palisade's water supply, Cabin Reservoir, and stop at the old cabin that gave the reservoir its name.
