Join us for a talk about the challenges of registration of personal information with an example from Iceland. A visiting scholar from the University of Iceland, Ragna Kemp Haraldsdottir, will share her research.
When: Tuesday, 14 November 2023, 5-6 pm
Where: Wellington School of Business and Government, Rutherford House, Mezzanine floor, Room MZ02
What: A discussion on the contradicting challenges of registration of personal information and GDPR due to registration requirements of the Equal Pay Standard in Iceland.
Many organizations (and not only in Iceland) are challenged by different, and perhaps opposite, registration and protection obligations of information regarding their employees. In this session, the presenter, Ragna Kemp Haraldsdottir, will discuss how Icelandic organizations balance the registration obligations of the Equal Pay Standard (EPS) and the protection requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is a research that Ragna has worked on to raise awareness of how information professionals have a role to ensure that documentation on the education and skills of employees is authentic, traceable and secure.
