Corbett: Beinn Mhic Mhonaidh (796m) from Glen Orchy grade B+
Ascent 750m, 14km, 5h walking time
Meet at Crianlarich Hotel, 0900
Organiser: Paul Harrison

I climbed this remote Corbett for the first time on 13 October this year through a cloud inversion and was highly impressed!

The hill provides spectacular 360 degree views on a clear day, SE to Ben Lui, round to Stob Binnein & Ben More, Beinn Dorain & Beinn an Dothaidh, then north to the Mamores and Ben Nevis, then finally west past the summit cairn to the Cruachan range.

The walk starts at the Eas Urchaidh car park in Glen Orchy. The fairly gentle walk in on grassy tracks/paths passes alongside burns through an ancient Caledonian pinewood and deciduous woodland to reach the open hillside at around 350m. Then it is a stiff, moderately steep, 330m climb on a faint grassy path up to reach the NE shoulder of the summit ridge, followed by an easy pleasant stroll up to the summit. The return is by the same route.
