There's a forecast for snow later this week and I am proposing a winter walk from the Ben Lawers car. The precise route would depend on the conditions - it may be Ben Lawers (https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/ben-lawers.shtml) or some of the Tarmachan ridge (https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/munros/meall-nan-tarmachan). If we catch good conditions it may be a fabulous day. I will update early Friday a.m. when weather forecasts and snow conditions are more certain.

Full winter clothing required for this one, plus ice axe and full crampons.

Either way this is a strenuous Grade A walk which will move at least at moderate speed.

A lift offered for up to 3 from South and central Glasgow.

*** Update 9am Friday 13th March***
It is looking good. There's a light covering of snow down to a few hundred metres, forecast light snow showers and sunny intervals, moderate wind form SW, freezing temperatures.

I am minded to do the Tarmachan ridge in a clockwise direction, with the wind on our backs on the tops. It can get icy in places, so you will need full winter gear. Considerable wind chill - multiple gloves, hats advised.

I have pushed the start back to 10am, as the visibility will be better in the afternoon.

Take care getting up to the car park, as the road is not gritted. Ring me if you have any problems and I can get you from the bottom. 07763 456 981
