Fintry Hills (511m) circuit from Fintry
The walk starts at the village hall on the main street in Fintry, just west of the junction with the Kippen Road.
The route goes via Culcreuth Castle, then follows a zig-zag track up the hillside to reach a point below the crags on Stronend part of the Fintry Hills. From there we contour easily under the crags to a point below the summit of Stronend and then climb through an unlikely looking diagonal gully through the crags (steep but perfectly safe) to the summit of Stronend.
We return SSE along the top of the Stronend hillside, keeping close to the cliffs, finally descending gradually and gently to the top of Double Crags; then easily along the top of these to a point directly above the junction of the B818 and B222; and then down to the track leading to Craigton. Then we have a final pleasant flat walk along the side of the Endrick water back to Fintry, passing a picturesque wee lochan en route.
Meet at the village hall - park in the Fintry main street in a considerate manner or in the Fintry sports ground about 200m down the Kippen Road from the junction in Fintry.
