Ascent: 470m, 10km, about 4h walking time
Depart: Hawes YHA 0900, then drive to Horton-in Ribblesdale car park (SD 807 724), about a 30 min drive.

Pen-y-ghent is one of the Yorkshire "Three Peaks" and a wonderful hill with a characteristic shape on the skyline. This classic circuit is is a walk full of interest through great limestone scenery, following the Pennine Way some of the way. It climbs the hill from the south via Brackenbottom Scar and returns via Hunt Pot and Hull Pot.
