Details

Honister in the lake district, near Keswick, offers the opportunity to experience via ferrata similar to that in the Dolomites and the Alps in general. There are 2 main via ferrata options:

  1. Via Ferrata Classic, cost £55 (roughly 2 hours - 2 hours 30)
  2. Via Ferrata Xtreme, cost £70 (roughly 3 hours)

I have talked with Honister and they say we can all start at the same time, and initially we will be on the same route.

NOTE: I aim to book up the weekend of the 25th April. Anyone signing up after that date please get in touch with me.

See the web site at https://honister.com/ for a description of the options. Both the routes are guided and are safe. Basically you do not have to be proficient in via ferrata or climbing to do either of these routes. It really depends on how you feel about exposure.

We will leave Glasgow about 9am with the minimum of cars, returning in the early evening.
