Beinn Mheadhoin (middle mountain) is one of the Cairngorm's remoter peaks. This trip involves much ascent and descent just to reach the start of the climb; but it passes through the magnificent Loch Avon basin. Storer describes it as an exceptionally interesting walk that passes through a spectacular landscape as it dips into and out of the cliff-ringed Loch Avon basin.
