Event Description:
What does it mean to be a humanist in 21st-century Scotland—and why does it matter now more than ever?
Join Fraser Sutherland, Chief Executive of Humanist Society Scotland, as he explores the growing relevance of popular humanism in public life. Fraser will reflect on how values like reason, compassion and freedom of thought are essential for navigating the challenges of modern society.

About the Speaker:
Fraser Sutherland is the Chief Executive of Humanist Society Scotland, a role he has held since 2019. With over eight years of leadership in the organisation, Fraser has been at the forefront of campaigning for a fairer, more secular Scotland.
Prior to becoming Chief Executive, Fraser served as Campaigns and Communications Manager, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the Society’s public voice. His work has included high-profile campaigns such as the push to legalise assisted dying, giving pupils greater rights around religious observance in schools, and the successful effort to repeal Scotland’s outdated blasphemy laws.
