Join us for our next Glasgow Branch meeting, open to all HSS members, supporters and anyone who shares humanist values! This month's meeting will feature a speaker as well as updates on the society’s recent activities.

Event Description:
What does abortion access after 20 weeks look like in Scotland and why does it matter? Join us for an informative talk on reproductive rights and the barriers people can face when seeking support. We’ll also explore Scotland’s push for clinic safe access (buffer) zones and what they mean for privacy, dignity and healthcare free from intimidation.

About the Speaker:
Lucy Ward is Policy and Engagement Manager at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), having previously served as a Policy Officer. She is also the co-founder of Back Off Scotland, a grassroots pro-choice campaign established in 2020 to advocate for national legislation introducing 150-metre safe access (buffer) zones around clinics providing abortion services. Founded in response to an increase in protests outside clinics near the University of Edinburgh, Back Off Scotland has helped place clinic access, patient privacy, and public safety firmly on Scotland’s public agenda.
