Event Description:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will not be a speaker at this month's meeting as originally scheduled. Instead we will be having a facilitated discussion on the topics discussed in the recently published book The Apologists' Paradox: A Burning Question. The book was written by Grant Dallas, who was originally scheduled to speak at the meeting. It broadly makes the argument that the claims of traditional religious apologism (i.e. those which seek to set out rigorous arguments as to why a given religion should be believed) paradoxically refute themselves, in so far as ‘...if they followed the rationale of their own arguments to a logical conclusion, they would see that the greatest service they could render would be to abandon the very foundations they defend’.
