About us
All levels and styles are welcome and you could use any medium you like (pencils, charcoal, crayons etc.). We meet weekly in a public place like a coffee-shop or a park. Then you draw anything you like. It could be a bowl of fruit, a person modelling or a dog nearby. There are no teachers or prizes. Just sketching and friends having a wee blether.

ATYN’s Life Drawing Club • Sloans | Glasgow
Sloans, 62 Argyll Arcade, 108 Argyll Street, Glasgow, GBWelcome!
BOOKING: Please book your tickets on Eventbrite using this code (M33TuP) at checkout for your discounted Meetup rate. You can also pay on the door if arriving with the group, but be sure to RSVP here for the discount.
Welcome to our weekly life drawing club every Monday evening at Sloans Bar & Restaurant in the city centre. We will be either on the first floor or in the ballroom on the top floor.
Sketching starts at 7pm sharp, but you can arrive from 6.45pm and drop in a bit later too, if that suits you best. Meetup members please liaise in the bar beforehand. From 6.30pm there is a chance to meet, have a drink, and a chat. There's not much chatting when the drawing starts (although you are welcome to!)
Each week there are two life models, who pose in separate rooms. The timings for model 1: 6 x 2 mins, 3 x 5 mins, 3 x 10 mins - 20 min break - 2 x 20 mins. Timings for model 2: 4 x 15 mins - 20 min break - 2 x 20 mins.
The models swap rooms at the break. You're free to wander around, go from room to room, seat to seat, as you wish. Drinks can be taken from the bar and there's a good soundtrack to accompany your drawing.
Bring your own materials, although the event provides some basic stuff too. There are sketchpads to buy, although bring your own as we are often out of stock!
If you haven't got the Meetup app on your phone, it's worth getting. Plus, the wifi password at the venue is 'macaronicheese', should you not get a signal.
Look forward to seeing you in there. For more information check out our website: atyn.co.uk and follow us on Instagram @atynudes xx

ATYN & Genuine Quirk • Nude Sculpt @ HOT
House of Toad CIC, 23 Park Circus, G3 6AP, Glasgow, GBJoin ATYN and Genuine Quirk at House Of Toad, for a nude sculpt - all are welcome!
We are back teaming up once more with Genuine Quirk, who will be providing you all with self drying clay, and a lesson, so that you can create your own clay sculpture to take home:
Clay Sculpture Class: Sculpting the Torso
This class explores sculpting the torso using different techniques inspired by life drawing. Working with a live nude model, you will have a chance to try out three short technique exercises before creating a final bust to take home.
We ask you either wear old clothes (or bring an old towel) and a cardboard box to take your sculpture home in ( your sculpture will be approx. 180mm tall and 100mm wide)
---
6:30 – 6:40 | Welcome & Introduction
- Brief overview of the class structure.
- Quick intro to materials and tools.
- Emphasis on exploration—these exercises help loosen up and observe form before committing to a final piece.
6:40 – 6:55 | Exercise 1 – Pinching & Molding (No Adding or Subtracting Clay)
Demo (2 min):
- Show how to shape the torso using only pinching, pressing, and stretching without adding or removing clay.
- Focus on bold, broad movements, feeling the form rather than details.
6:55 – 7:10 | Exercise 2 – Subtractive Sculpting (Only Removing Clay)
Demo (2 min):
- Demonstrate blocking out a solid shape and carving into it to reveal the torso.
7:10 – 7:25 | Exercise 3 – Additive Sculpting (Only Adding Clay)
Demo (2 min):
- Show how to build the torso by gradually adding clay, layering muscles and contours.
- Demonstrate soft blending techniques.
7:25 – 7:40 | Break (15 min
7:40 – 8:30 | Final Sculpt – Freestyle Bust Using Any Technique
Sculpt a Final torso piece to take home, using any of the techniques practiced earlier.Your final sculpture will take 24-48 hours to air dry and can be either left as is or painted using any paints (acrylics, gouche, oil etc) and finished using a varnish or PVA glue.
Spaces are currently limited (20), so booking is essential. Purchase via Eventbrite. You are of course welcome to come and draw, if you would rather not sculpt, but places will all be charged at the same cost for this session.
