This year, Women Techmakers Scotland, GDSC and GDG chapters across Scotland have come together to host an International Women’s Day celebration!

Get ready for a day full of inspirational talks, workshops, Q&As, and giveaways!

We are proud to host a conference where we will hear from brilliant women speakers who will inspire and motivate us with talks and workshops on technical topics and soft skills.

"Redefine Possible" is a bold declaration that challenges the boundaries of what technology can achieve and reimagines who shapes its future.

Patty O'Callaghan, Organizer

Patty is a Venezuelan living in Scotland. She has +20 years of experience in the tech industry and a background education in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. She is a Tech Lead at Charles River Laboratories.

In her free time, Patty is a dedicated mentor and educator, leading a Code Club for 10-15 year-olds at her local school. Additionally, she's an organiser at Google Developers Group Glasgow, serves as an Ambassador for Google's Women Techmakers, and is recognised as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Machine Learning.

She is very passionate about AI and loves sharing her knowledge and expertise with others, frequently giving talks and technical workshops on various technologies and topics related to it, especially Web Machine Learning.

Hi I'm Lucy, I'm studying Software Development at Glasgow Caledonian University. I'm a student mentor for GCU. Alongside my studies I teach a coding club twice a week in Glasgow for young people aged between 10-16, where they learn the fundamentals of programming varied from Python, HTML, CSS and SQL. From June 2024- September 2024 I'm an Epicor ERP Programmer Intern at Sivers Photonics.

Hi I'm Sophie!

I'm currently a first year student at Strathclyde University studying a MEng in Computer Science. I'm a Google Women's Techmaker and an organiser of GDG Glasgow.
I'm currently the Vice President of Strathclydes Coding Society and a lead organiser of StrathHack 2023. I'm a volunteer with Impact Arts, helping older people learn how to use phones and iPads.

I'm passionate about UI/UX and web design and want to learn more about these areas.

Vinamra Sharma, PGT Student

Vinamra Sharma is a technology enthusiast and hackathon person, recognised for his success in over 50 global hackathons, including events hosted by MIT, Harvard, and Duke University. He completed his master's degree in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow focusing the research on Tiny Machine Learning and its application in healthcare. Vinamra has published three research papers and received the best research award from IEEE and Springer conferences.

They will learn about Games Design and making projects on Scratch 3.0, Web Development and Cyber Security.
