What we’re about
Social Group for All (SGA)
About Us
Social Group for All (SGA) is a welcoming community for individuals from all walks of life to connect, socialise, and enjoy shared interests. While our primary focus is on walking, hiking, and trekking, we believe these activities provide not only physical benefits but also mental well-being and a chance to connect with like-minded individuals in a relaxed, natural setting.
Exploring the outdoors allows us to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, appreciate nature, and build lasting friendships. Whether it’s a leisurely walk through local parks, a scenic countryside hike, or a more challenging trekking adventure in the hills, our group encourages members to embrace the outdoors and reap the benefits of fresh air, exercise, and companionship.
By regularly coming together for these activities, we create a sense of community and belonging. Members can share experiences, offer support, and develop a routine that promotes both physical and social engagement. Our goal is to establish a consistent and friendly group where everyone, regardless of experience level, feels welcome and encouraged to participate.
In addition to our outdoor pursuits, we also organise a variety of social events, including movie nights, lunch and dinner gatherings, board games, tennis, badminton, video game meetups, book exchanges, and travel adventures. These activities complement our walking and hiking events, providing further opportunities to strengthen friendships and enjoy new experiences together.
Changes & Cancellations
SGA reserves the right to cancel or modify walks due to weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances, or other factors. Participants should check event details before setting out to ensure they have the most up-to-date information.
Personal Responsibility & Liability
Participation in SGA walks is entirely at your own risk. Each individual is responsible for their own safety, decisions, and well-being throughout the walk. We encourage all participants to practice self-awareness and self-reliance when assessing their capabilities.
Outdoor activities, including walking, hiking, and hill climbing, come with inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, sudden weather changes, and physical exertion. All participants must acknowledge these risks and accept full responsibility for their own actions.
Health, Fitness & Equipment
Participants should be aware that various factors—such as personal fitness level, medical conditions, terrain, and weather—can impact their ability to complete a walk safely. It is essential to understand your own limits and take appropriate precautions.
To ensure safety and preparedness, all walkers should wear appropriate clothing, footwear, and carry necessary supplies. We recommend following the equipment guidelines set out by recognised outdoor organisations.
Acknowledgment of Risk
By joining any SGA-organised walk, you acknowledge and accept that outdoor activities involve risks, including potential injury or worse. SGA, its organisers, and any affiliated individuals are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages sustained during or as a result of participation in any group walk or event.
By taking part in an SGA walk, you confirm that you have read and understood this waiver and accept full responsibility for your own safety and well-being at all times.
