In Glasgow, a “Sub Crawl” is a well-known tradition.

The idea is simple: you travel around the circle of the Glasgow Subway, stopping at each station to visit a nearby pub before moving on to the next stop.
Traditionally, this means visiting many pubs in a single evening. It can be lively, chaotic, and fast-paced.

This series takes a different approach.

Instead of rushing through the entire subway line in one night, we slow things down and explore one stop at a time. Each event in the Slow Sub Crawl takes place in a pub or bar located near a different subway station. We spend the evening there, enjoying relaxed conversation and getting to know each other while discovering the neighbourhoods around the subway circle.

For the first stop in the series, we will meet at Jacksons Cambridge Street, a relaxed and unpretentious local bar known for its friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks, and classic pub food. It is a straightforward and comfortable place to meet, chat, and start the Slow Sub Crawl series.

🚇 Jacksons is easily accessible by subway, just 2 minutes from Cowcaddens station.
🚂 If you’re travelling by train, it’s a 10-minute walk from Queen Street Station.
🚌 Bus 3, 6, 6A, 60 and many others stop nearby.

When arriving in a new country, it is helpful and fun to meet people who are in the same situation as you. We too were puzzled by the Scottish patter at first, and it took some time to adjust to the rainy weather ☔️

Come meet new people and discover this vibrant city together 😃
See you 👋
