Drumpelier Country Park Walk

Join Glasgow Young Walkers for a leisurely Sunday stroll through Drumpelier Country Park, which is apart of the commuter town of Coatbridge. The route will take us along the canal and up into the park and around the lochs, and back to the station.

Terrain: Good/Mixed Paths, Woodland Paths. Muddy Paths at points.

Getting there
By car: Blairhill Train Station has free parking spaces. Non-drivers will be expected to contribute to driving costs.

Public transport: Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Edinburgh Waverley trains run directly to Blairhill. There is a train from Queen St Low Level which will leave at 9.45am and arrive at 10.04am which is fine for our walk starting time.

Please note that the number of attendees is limited to 15 people for this walk.

This is an easy walk that is suitable for all fitness levels. Please wear suitable walking shoes or boots and weather appropriate clothing, plus water or snacks to take along with you.

Please be aware that we are trialling a new system, in which the week before this event the walk leader will contact you to confirm your attendance. If this is not confirmed by the date/time deadline set by the walk leader, you will be removed from the walk, and your space will be given to a waitlist member. If you don't respond or do not show up on the day of the walk, you will have a strike added to your name. After 3 strikes, you will be banned from the walk leaders' walks. This is to ensure fairness and also address the current no-shows for oversubscribed walks.***

There is limited access to toilets, with the cafe and toilet about 1.5 hours into the walk.
