What we’re about
Welcome to those who read and want to share their experiences with others once a month in a socially relaxed setting.
We meet once a month, the third Thursday at 7pm, to chat about a novel. Venue is a cafe on Glebe Point Road. We as a group pick the novel for two months into the future.
Structure is to meet and greet, order something to drink and eat, and chat about the novel for the first part of the meeting. This will be followed by a freer discussion about other novels and culture. Towards the end of the meeting we shall pick the next novel.
Mutual respect is important and we will delete anyone who does not respect the conversation of others. Please be sensible as for example if your choice of book meets with strong unenthusiastic do not keep on plugging that choice of book as we are a group. And if two of us are at loggerheads there are many more topics of conversation to go through.
Every so often we may do some other reader activity such as the Sydney Writer's Festival.
Once a year we will throw the door open to discussion as to what we as members want to get out of the book club.
