What we’re about

At Global Girl Gang, we are committed to the belief that age should never hinder the spirit of adventure. Our objective is to build a nurturing community where women over 60 can unite to discover the world, exchange stories, and cultivate lasting friendships.

One of my greatest inspirations comes from a journey I embarked on to Sicily two years ago. I joined a well-known tour group, expecting to find at least one other solo traveler to connect with, but to my dismay, there were none. I had attempted to inquire beforehand by contacting the tour operator, but they were unable to disclose such details due to privacy policies. Although I cherished my time in Sicily, the presence of couples made me feel like an outsider on certain occasions. Determined not to repeat this experience for my upcoming trip to Scotland, I tried to persuade several friends to join me, but unfortunately, they had their own commitments. I then decided to reach out through social media, leading to a delightful discovery of my travel companion, Jane, who resides in Pennsylvania. We stay in touch via Zoom and text, and we plan to meet in Edinburgh this September. Each of us will have our private rooms, allowing for personal experiences while knowing we have a friend to share moments with.

Like many of you, I have a deep passion for travel and empowering women in our age group to embrace all that life offers. Together, we can form connections so that no one feels left out due to a lack of companionship on their journeys.
