Immersion!

Details
An opportunity to enjoy a 360 audio visual Dome experience courtesy of the Performing Arts Mission followed by conversation in the cafe.
Theme: Spirituality
Make connections through an experience of 'wonder' / of stunning immersive content. Your ideas help create the art.
This is a reminder for our next Immersion next Tuesday 20th May (3rd Tuesday of the month), 7-9pm at the Market Hall as usual.
The next film is quite abstract, about dystopian worlds (I can't give too much info as it's a special watch) - I'm sure we'll have a great conversation with a mix of responses and end up putting the world to rights, as usual!
We'll also show our 'warm-up' short film, Biosphere...
Reminders for Immersion at Market Hall:
There are beanbags provided - if you'd like to bring a cushion or a blanket to be more comfortable / cosy, please do.
We gather at 7pm and move into the dome at about 7.10. Following the film(s), we have a conversation together over coffee.
We finish promptly at 9pm, so the staff can go home!
Free film - buy your own coffee (and cake!)

Thank you to all who were able to join us on Tuesday 15th or Thursday 17th April at Sherwell United Church, for our special showings of the Passion video for Holy Week. We had some wonderful conversations...
We are also encouraging some ad-hoc Immersion style gatherings, where we meet up for something creative (film, theatre, art exhibition) and try to have a conversation afterwards. There's a lovely event on this Sunday that I'm sure some of you would really appreciate:
Talking with Trees - story walk: Sunday 18th May, 4pm, Drakes Place Reservoir, North Hill, PL4 8EZ (right next to Sherwell United Church)
A small group of us has already booked - this is a free event and you can book by clicking on the link below and printing your ticket or having it on your phone - whatever is easier. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll try to book for you. We'll just gather on the green from 3.45, so look out for us...
(It would be best to park at Drake's Circus, or your regular Plymouth parking place, as the church carpark will likely be full with other Sunday gatherings...
Talking With Trees: Story Walk Tickets, Sun, May 18, 2025 at 4:00 PM | Eventbrite
Follow Plymouth Urban Tree Festival on Instagram or Facebook and follow Plymouth Tree People on Eventbrite for notifications as events are listed!
We also want to encourage people to suggest possible ad-hoc creative meet-ups, so if there is something you'd like to go to and would like some company, please do let me know and I can email group members and advertise on Facebook. If a whole group can't go, you may just find there is someone who would like to join you. We particularly would like ideas for the other Tuesday evenings in the month, so that we get a sense of continuity and people know there is always something to do on a Tuesday evening (even if it's going to a pub with a band on - that sounds good actually - though difficult to talk!) The other regular Tuesday event is Soul Stories on the 1st Tuesday of the month, which is a safe space for poets / artists / song writers to share their work and the story behind it. This is a really safe and gentle group who are building trust and vulnerability - if you're interested in this, do get in touch to find out more. It's not really a group to just turn up at...
