INTERNATIONAL DINNER! (October 2025)
Details
So much to look forward to in October's International Dinner as we celebrate Diwali, Black History Month and Samhain / Halloween! It's now the height of autumn with plentiful months of harvest and the approach to many cultural celebrations.
We are delighted to welcome friends celebrating Black History Month and meet locals whose contribution to the city is helping to shape it into a vibrant thriving community. And we get to try some tasty dishes too!
A call out to all Indian guests and those celebrating Diwali! Come and help us learn about this important festival. Do you eat special dishes for the occasion? Bring them along and help us learn with you. And let's not forget the music and dancing!
Have you ever wondered about the true origins of Halloween? Come and find out how this special occasion has both cultural and spiritual links for millions around the world. For all you food artists out there, bring along a 'carved Pumpkin' to celebrate this wonderful fruit and its significance at this time of year. There may be a prize in it for you! Please plan your designs and bring your creations to adorn the International Dinner setting. Why not cook something with the carved out pumpkin flesh to share? Pie, stew, flans, salads, soups? Surprise us!
Important note: YOUR PUMPKINS MUST ARRIVE ALREADY CARVED! There will be no provision to carve them at the event!!
It promises to be a packed night! So come along and help us celebrate an evening with delicious food, feasting, friendships, music and culture. Please join in with your own contribution of colourful and delicious dishes, home comfort foods and traditional family recipes. Help us learn about your cultural food and cuisine and add your unique personal magic to the evening.
If you prefer not to cook - then buy a contribution and bring it along!
A donation box will also be available for those who may wish to make a financial donation towards future International Dinners (50% of the proceeds will be donated to Sherwell Church)
Look forward to welcoming new faces and returning guests.
If you miss it, you'll definitely miss out!
