Tips on European Travel Today - Destination Discussion

Many travel dreamers have their heart set on journeying to Europe. In fact, in 2023 eight out of the world’s top ten most visited countries were in Europe. With so many people flocking there, it helps to know tips and tricks from travelers who have been. As such, this month’s event is Tips on European Travel Today.

Hear from travelers who have recently been to Europe. Ask your pressing questions. Gain inspiration for vacationing there. Discover tips for enjoying Europe. And for those that have recently traveled there, come share what you discovered!

Cost: This is a by donation event (recommended amount is $5 per person). You can bring your donation to the gathering or submit it by clicking donate here on Meetup. Why are we asking for donations? Because there are costs to hosting events and running a Meetup group. In fact, Meetup raised our fee in September. It is now nearly $350 to have a this group listed. We need members help in paying this fee so please donate what you can if you attend.

Location: We have reserved a private room for this event. We will be at the Rogue Eastside Pub in the Barrel Room. Please support the venue by ordering food and/or drink. On Saturday’s, there is free street parking in the area, or better yet, take public transport. There is limited seating in the Barrel Room, so ONLY RSVP IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND. It is important that we have an accurate headcount. If your plans change after signing up - go to Meetup.com and switch your RSVP. No showing is tough on other travelers, the speakers, and the venue. Please be considerate and honor your RSVP.

Destination Discussion Facilitator: Shyla Esko Bare has recently returned from three weeks in Europe. She had an amazing time and is eager to share the differences she discovered from her pre-pandemic trips to Europe. Shyla has been organizing travel gatherings in the Portland area for over ten years. She is an International Travel Coach with Wild Spirit Travel. Shyla has traveled to 75 countries and has lived in five, including Scotland. She is the co-author of the bestselling Before You Go Abroad Handbook .

2:20 – 3:10 Facilitated discussion – Tips on European Travel Today
3:10 – 3:30 Wrap Up and move out of Barrel Room (conversations can continue in the main areas of Rogue Eastside)
3:30 Head for home dreaming of traveling to Europe!
