Greetings of peace one and all,
The Long Island Spirituality Meetup is for anyone interested in exploring on how we can tap into our inner spiritual power.
Inner spiritual power allows a pure, seamless reaction in the face of problems and conflict. We carry complex, negative conditioning inside, where sorrow and karma have created the habit of reacting violently to situations. The violence of anger, rejection, fear, jealousy and aggression has been injected into our personalities. By remembering our spiritual powers and learning to adapt, tolerate and be ever alert, we create a non-violent, responsive, rather than reactive, relationship with life. We move from rejecting to welcoming. Then only can the understanding of inner peace, the sweetness of love and the power of bliss remain alive inside,
We are individuals of all ages and backgrounds who study spiritual knowledge that nurtures respect for all faith traditions and encourage the experiementation of using meditation among other methods to restore our inner spiritual power.
Meditation is the journey inwards, a journey of self-discovery or, in fact, re-discovery. Meditation is time taken for quiet reflection and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of daily living. Taking time out enables us to come back to a centred place of being.
Meditation is a state of being in that place just beyond every day consciousness, which is where spiritual empowerment begins. Spiritual awareness gives us the power to choose good and positive thoughts over those which are negative and wasteful. We start to respond to situations, rather than just reacting to them. We begin to live with harmony, we create better and happier, healthier relationships and change our lives in a most positive way.

Shila Sanghani is a certified yoga instructor in the Chicago metro area. She has led several workshops and national retreats and worked alongside many doctors and other health care professionals to help with a range of medical conditions.
