The UK faces significant long-term water scarcity, with England projected to face a shortfall of 5 billion litres of water per day by 2055, driven by climate change and population growth. Up to 12 million people already live in water-stressed areas, with water usage increasing despite sustainability targets.

  • Jess Neumann from the University of Reading and who works with charities, private organisations, local authorities to address the water crisis.
  • Michelle Walker from The River Trust who develops Citizen Science projects, empowering communities to collect and use environmental data to protect their local waterways
  • Charlotte Stannard from Th River Trust who is committed to addressing the UK’s water scarcity crisis through inclusive, community-led action
  • Hali Healy from the University of Birmingham who has developed world café initiatives around community resilience and
  • Julian Jones from Water21 and who is an originator of the sustainable water drainage systems concept, working since 1984 to help solve the many water-related crises facing communities throughout the UK and around the world
