Bird Quest Training - River Drive Park
Details
Big Timber Creek along River Rd in Westville, NJ can be good this time of year for lingering waterfowl and migrating shorebirds. Other possibilities include terns, swallows, gulls, Bald Eagles, and Ospreys. Timing corresponds to low tide best for shorebirds and gulls. This is an easy walk. As we drive along a half mile of the creek, we will stop at several positions to scan. A scope will be available. If you have your own scope, it is recommended. An eBird list of the birds seen and heard will be shared after the walk.
This walk occurs during the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge, so it will be great chance to add sightings of any living organism. If interested, download the iNaturalist app before the walk to make it easier to participate in the City Nature Challenge.
Any questions concerning the City Nature Challenge, the iNat app and eBird app can be answered during the walk.
