Glug Leeds #7 - The Careers Clinic - Developing Leeds Talent

We’ve got something super special lined up for our end of year event! We’ll be focusing on Developing Leeds Talent, doing things a little differently this time round by giving you a bumper event not only will you get the awesome Glug talks but we’re hosting a careers clinic during the afternoon build up!

Join us from 3pm at ODI Leeds where we’ll be collaborating with local businesses and educational institutions to provide you guys some genuine insights to what’s available job wise, course-wise and what the hell I’m breaking out on my own-wise.

On the day we'll have contributors from businesses to form the employers panel who can name a couple of points they look for when employing new talent, details of graduate or apprenticeship schemes they have available and possibly a junior from their business will join us to talk about their experience of working life.

Our education panels will be formed of local course providers and who will talk through the range of courses available both short courses and longer term further education options as well as the support services they are able to offer. We’ll also have people on hand who can share an insight into their education journey.

Finally for those of you looking to break out solo we’ve got a couple independent business people on hand to talk through the real life experiences of freelancing and building your own business.

Glug talks will commence from 6pm featuring our usual collective of inspiring speaker - Studio12, Alec Dudson of Intern Magazine, the ladies from up and coming movement SheDoesDigital, Matt Essam of Creative Life, brothers turned business partners Matthew and Daniel Tweddle of Only, and author of the Human Freelancer - Chris Kenworthy.

It’s gonna be a great way to round off the year with a positive look at what opportunities are out there and share some advice and experience.
