What we’re about
We are here to share and celebrate Portland's very special abundance of gluten-free offerings. Under new management, this meetup offers new, inclusive events that promote gluten-free living. This meetup is not attached to a business or organization, just a grassroots gluten-free resource for everyone to enjoy!
Our meetups are open to anyone following or supporting a gluten-free lifestyle. You might be managing celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, autoimmune disorders, or simply choosing to avoid gluten for personal reasons. Friends and family members are encouraged to join, and you don't need a medical diagnosis to be part of our community. We will exchange our insights about navigating celiac disease, share our favorite gluten-free dining options and products, and support overall wellness. We understand the unique challenges and victories that come with this lifestyle, and we enjoy connecting with others who truly understand this experience.

•OnlineOn HOLD Sep/Oct '25 - Next GIG Mtg + Brunch in Nov at Ground Breaker Brewing
OnlineHi All -
We always take the summer off, and usually start back up in September (this year it's November). I have currently been living out-of-state since the Spring to take care of a family member with medical issues and working remotely there, and will likely continue into the Fall.(I was able to enjoy one week of rustic camping on the Central Oregon coast, despite 25 mph winds, fog and rain!)
I will come back home to Portland for the NOVEMBER 2025 meeting (Saturday 11/8) as the fabulous local baker Heather Wilke Gonzales will grace us with a demo of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies (with allergy substitutions as she is a specialist in this) at Ground Breaker Brewing and the delicious SalviPDX will be serving up brunch for us (thank you Denise and Tony for coming in on Saturday and giving up their morning to feed us - what a treat!)
Do you recognize the Wilkes middle name? Mary Wikle, Heather's mom, ran the Gluten Intolerance Group for 10 years before I took over!
Can't wait to see you soon.
