Join us for an up and back down hike on Baxter Creek Trail. Approximately 12 miles and 4100’ elevation gain and is a full day of strenuous hiking. This is one of the most strenuous hikes the club offers so it is for seasoned hikers. If you're not someone who does 12 mile 2500 foot elevation hikes a couple times a month, this is not the hike for you. Contact me if you are in doubt. The hike will be interesting because the forest changes with beautiful views of ferns, rock formations covered in elegant moss, fall leaf colors and a 360 degree incredible view at the top. The Mt. Sterling fire tower is the highest above sea level elevation fire tower that remains in the eastern United States.
