Tomorrow's talk is an Introduction to Self-Knowledge. It is aimed at those of us who want to take control of our life, and make changes in our life.

The aim of the course is to help us change the way we think, feel and act. We may find we are unable to switch of our thoughts and waste lots of mental energy worrying about the future, or what people think of us. Or we may be walking around with a constant feeling of anxiety which is wasting our emotional energy. Or, we may be looking to change our actions and become les reactive toward people and situations. This course in Gnosis gives the tools for us to take control.

When we are lost in thought we have become asleep. This course in Gnosis shows us how to live in the present moment, to be in the here and now, and not to live in the past or future. It is the sleep of the consciousness that is the root of our problems.

We have within us a spiritual part, which we call the Essence, and by connecting with our Essence we can lead a life of peace, happiness and love. The obstacle to connecting with our Essence is our ego. All of our negativity is expressed in our thinking, feeling and actions and this is because of our ego. So, in order to connect with our Essence we need to Work upon our ego. Of course this involves an effort on our part.

The course of Gnosis runs for 23 weeks and will discuss topics like, Karma and Dharma, Evolution and Involution, Awakening Consciousness, The Psychological Self, The Elementals, Initiation, and more. The talks are combined with practices of Concentration, Meditation, Relaxation, Astral Projection, Mantras, and more.

The talks are every Monday in Hillhead Library (small hall), Byres Road. 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
