Ancient Mystery Religions & Their Influence on Early Christianity
12:00pm noon EDT Sunday 23 June 2019 at CRS in Manhattan

A lecture by Richard Carrier, Ph.D.

Admission: $10 cash donation (for room rent)

Dr. Carrier will have his books to sell and sign.

Richard Carrier has a doctorate in ancient history from Columbia University. He has published papers and books on history and philosophy, including work on early Christianity, atheism, Bayes' theorem, and ancient science. His most recent book is The Scientist in the Early Roman Empire (2017).

This is Dr. Carrier's first lecture on the link between ancient mystery religions and early Christianity. It is largely based on material explored in his peer-reviewed 2014 book, On the Historicity of Jesus: Why We Might Have Reason for Doubt.
