Go AAR: Level up your testing
Details
Like a Gophoenix, we rise again! Join us for an exciting meetup where we delve into the world of Go. Whether you've written Go for years or just started, come say hi.
Talks and Speakers
1. Testing in Go: Basics to Advanced - Jon Bodner
One of the best decisions made by the Go team was to include testing support in the standard library. New releases of Go have expanded this functionality, providing Go developers with better tools to create high-quality code. In this talk, Jon covers the testing packages, including the new synctest package in Go 1.26.
Jon is the author of "Learning Go: An Idiomatic Approach to Real-World Go Programming" which is widely regarded as one of the best resources for learning and levelling up your Go game.
2. Uncovering a bug in Go by deploying to our critical infrastructure - Johan Abildskov
At Uber we have one of the largest code bases on the planet. We have a robust setup and process for rolling out new versions of golang. We also have robust deployment of our software. This talk is about one time where this wasn't enough. I cover the setup, the bug, the problem and the learnings from a few frustrating days going from incident to Go contributor.
